Road accidents are one of the main causes of death and incapacity worldwide, with around 1.2 million people killed and between 20 and 50 million injured each year (source: WHO). Several million customers stop at TotalEnergies’ service stations daily, and each year its employees and contractors cover 500 million kilometers, making the Company a major global transport actor, committed to improving road safety for several years now.

signatory to a national call to action by French businesses to promote road safety,
member of the Global Road Safety Partnership to prevent road accidents,
founding member of the United Nations Road Safety Fund,
signatory to the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030,
the first private-sector company to achieve three-star certification by the FIA (Fédération Internationale Automobile).

Road Safety Index Road safety is also one of TotalEnergies Foundation’s four priority focus areas for young people.

What exactly is #SafeDriver

#SafeDriver is a series of awareness-raising campaigns that promote our individual and collective commitment to safer roads. These campaigns disseminate our best practices and rules, and also help us make progress. Since 2017, the Company has rolled them out to our employees, partner companies, and more widely, to all road users.
