TotalEnergies is assessed on its ESG performance by ESG rating agencies that provide this information to financial investors among others. These assessments are made on the basis of publicly available information but also, depending on the methodology used by the agencies, on the basis of in-depth discussions. These ratings are used to assess the Company's ESG performance and its positioning among its peers. TotalEnergies is among the industry leaders in the rankings of the main ESG rating agencies and aims to maintain its exemplarity.

TotalEnergies is also included in numerous ESG indices composed of the best performing companies in terms of sustainable development. TotalEnergies has been present since 2001 in the FTSE4Good index series (London Stock Exchange) and continue to be included in the MSCI’s indexes (MSCI Europe ESG Leaders, MSCI World ESG Screened and MSCI Europe ESG Screened).

EcoVadis

As part of the 2024 Sustainability Rating, TotalEnergies obtained a score of 83/100 for its subsidiary Hutchinson and 82/100 for its subsidiary Saft (both awarded a platinum medal) as well as 82/100 for its Refining & Chemicals branch, propelling them into the top 1% of companies rated in this ranking. The Marketing & Services branch also progressed with a score of 80/100 and a gold medal, placing it in the top 2% of the ranking.
